Many parts are classically hand sewn, including the top of the cap, the base, and the buckle straps. The case is lined with PVC tubing to ensure that the shape will not be altered with time and frequent use. </div> <div>      The base consists of a 3/8 inch plywood plug covered with high density foam and lined with sheep's wool. Rod cases are available in various sizes to accommodate two to four rods. He worked from pictures and developed his own techniques to hand-craft the bottles.</div> <div>      Horsfield's leather bottles are replicas of those made by English bottle makers of the 17th and 18th centuries. In the manufacture of this vessel quality leather is stitched by hand using handmade flax thread.</div> <div>      Each bottle's shape is achieved by filling the unformed vessel with sand, inserting wood peg into the neck and pounding the peg to displace the sand.
